Not so gr8 day for me..My mom advised me not to begin any work today warning that today is "amavasya"..i dont believe them but i cud've been lazy instead..but the urgency impelled me to go..i've to get my driving license..Even after running into a series of hurdles, I couldnt get it done today...the RTO office was far away from my house as well as from the rest of tirupati..took me 30 mins on my bike..After reaching there , i discovered that i forgot the essential blood group report..great !! i've to go back...took me one more long hour to return..when i was back , the busy RTO guys said i was late..On the way back home, the traffic police blocked my way..i saw them from a distance and could have escaped easily.but i went there and stopped the bike intentionally infront of them like a stupid..i dont know y i did dat, may be i was expecting some fun :P..then they started showing the list of fines i've to pay...800 bucks for license,300 for pollution check and 300 more for bike registration..so..they asked to pay 1400 bucks...after some long requests, discussions and negotiations , i paid 50..;)
The day went on like dat..But there was something that caught my attention today...the expulsion of Jaswanth Singh from BJP...This old man who served the party and the country as well for more than 30 yrs
has to face the most embarrassing situation in his life at the age of 71..all just for writing a book on Jinnah and decrying the role of Nehru in Indian partition..it was not that necessary for the BJP to chagrin one of its greatest leaders this way..he was expelled with a phone call..The BJP leadership has its advantages..this treatment prevents any future threats of Mr.Jaswanth singh joining the BJP..It was clearly evident that the book on Jinnah was'nt the only reason behind the expulsion..Otherwise, Advani would have been out of the party long before for making the statements on Jinnah and visiting his sepulchre in pakistan..The actual reason is the ongoing fight for power within the BJP leadership..i wish it consumes BJP and the RSS as well..coz these organizations runs on the principles i detest the most.."right-wing nationalism" and "hostility towards another community"....
Even though there are other reasons, i'd like to talk abt the book he wrote on Md.Ali Jinnah which ignited the present controversy...well..he said that Jinnah was the "ambassador of Hindu-Muslim unity"..This has been published long back in undivided India in the first biography compiled by Sarojini naidu..Jinnah was actually one of the first secularists in the indian freedom struggle..But he also is instrumental in obtaining a separate state for the muslims of India..Why there is such a change in his policy?? Is he a paradox? well..hez not..
Jinnah was one of the most prominent leaders in the indian national congress..He always tried to boost the hindu-muslim unity..but was the plight of the indian muslims that might have provoked him to join the indian muslim league , which he actually avoided to join at the beginning , regarding it as a too muslim oriented organisation...The muslims of india were not treated properly and they held not many powerful posts in the government..There were cases where they were treated worser than the untouchables..They couldn't even touch the water taps in the hindu dominated areas..So, they were naturally jealous and harboured ill-feelings towards the hindus as the hindus did against the muslims..This was not the case all over india but this practice was pervasive over a large part of the country..And the mere eulogies of Gandhiji didnot appeal to many of the muslims..I'm not taking any sides here..This is jst a news abt the situation in india prior to the independence..So,it was not any wrong idea on the part of jinnah to ask for partition of India..
The accusal Jaswant laid on Nehru was another point that flared up the controversy..He held the view that Nehru and Sardar vallabhai patel were responsible for the partition..I'm not sure abt the part played by patel as of now..but Nehru's part was probably a cause for the partition of India..Nehru proposed the "Nehru report" as a proposed constitution for independent india..Jinnah and the muslim league rejected this, citing it as a Hindu document and proposed the famous "fourteen point constitutional reform plan"...i felt that wat jinnah asked were not any illogical ones..But nehru's team bluntly rejected it instead of going for improvisations and negotiations..Was'nt this a factor that led to the partition?? Yes u r right.. therz really no need to expel Jaswant from bjp right now.. that too by his contemporaries.. as u said its not his personal remarks about Jinnah and Nehru brought dis.. moreover many others in the past have made startling works on partition of India..
But one thing.. Jaswant Singh who served previously as central minister for finance, for foreign affairs and also for defence, a self-described liberal democrat even though bjp is often described as a right-wing nationalist organization,the Outstanding Parliamentarian Award winner for the year 2001, need not even bother abt this expulsion.. isnt it??
yea..from the public point of view, he need no worry about this..he has enjoyed all the privileges in his political career with BJP...Hailed as one of the very few decent leaders in the present political arena this expulsion must be a trivial thing to worry..and the present plight of BJP omens the fall of this non secularist party...
He has absolutely no need to worry..but its an individual issue..so if he is a person who takes things to heart, we cant help..as far as I've seen in the news, he dint care much abt the expulsion but the way it happened seems to have hurt him..he was dint even sent a show cause notice nor they did ask any explanation..Its concerns a national leader who has been profoundly honoured in the past to be humiliated by his own men..!!

Seriously, I don't think any person having a pre-occupied busy daily routine can read a 700 page "non-fiction" book in some 10 hrs.. it is possible only if we devote the entire 10 hrs reading the book.. isn't it??

A well thot logic from Mr.Jaswant..Yes..if they had read the book, the true essence would have been revealed..
But is his highly illogical of his analysis that it doesnt result in his expulsion..these guys were just waiting for the release of the book, which will be followed by the expulsion of Mr.Singh which , in turn ,might cool down the heated up RSS leadership under whose direction the BJP moves..
Doesn't he know the minds of the BJP cadre?? But seriously, the post godhra riots are not something to be forgiven..i would like to see the Supreme court awarding him capital punishment , sending the waves of secularism thoughout the country..It must be made clear that no act of religious fanaticism would be tolerated no matter who is the convict..

The basic point of religion and culture is to change the barbaric lifestyle of Man to a much tolerant and peace loving one. But the fact is that religion and culture are his own ideas while Barbarism is his innate quality which is being subjugated by the ideas. You can only try to control it but not always will you be successful. I feel it is the same barbaric tendency of Man which added elements into the idea called religion which promotes such kind of acts. I'm not being a cynic here but from my personal experience I can say that the first reactions to any event/situation happening around you will be aggressive. Its only that if your aggression is under control, either by your conscience (which I consider is most toughest of things a Man can face) or by the people around you (in the name of religion, societal norms, etc) you will be considered fit to live within the society and if not you are supposed to stay in the Jungle where the Rule is "Might wins". But then, even in the society these barbaric innovations have been so carefully instilled that people are in now able to filter them out. Thats why the saying goes... Kutte ki Dhum...
